I strongly urge all Buyers to get a home inspection! Buyers need to know exactly what they are buying. Make sure that the inspector you select is bonded-insured and is ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) certified.
Not only do I recommend a general home inspection, but I also urge Buyers to obtain a boundary survey and specialized inspections beyond what might be covered in a general inspection. Below are some examples:
- Mold
- Stucco
- Septic or Lagoon
- Radon
- Sprinklers
- Asbestos
- Swimming Pool
- Termite
- Structural Inspection
- Heating and Air Conditioning
- Electrical
- Roof
- Plumbing
- Well
From a Sellers standpoint, I urge the seller to get a home inspection. The seller needs to know about any potential hidden problems before their house goes on the market. It will save money in the long run…Sellers don’t want some problems that could be easily fixed to now become a negotiating tool for a lower price. Remember… you can count on the Buyers inspector finding the problem at the worst possible time. HOME INSPECTION COMPANIES
